An investigation has been launched after a man drove his van into a bar after being asked to leave.
Officers from Northumbria Police received the report that criminal damage had taken place at River Bar on Bonemill Lane in Washington shortly after 12am yesterday (January 12).
It was reported that a man had been asked to leave the bar and did so before he then proceeded to riven his van into the premises, causing damage, before driving off.

Northumbria Police have now confirmed that an investigation into the incident has been launched.
A Force spokesperson said: “Shortly after 12am yesterday (Sunday), we received a report of criminal damage having taken place at a bar on Bonemill Lane, Washington.
“It was reported that a man had been asked to leave the bar and after leaving, had driven his van into the premises, causing damage, before driving off.
"Enquiries are on-going into the incident.”
