Witnesses of an alleged standoff between police and a masked man in Inverness are being urged to provide pictures and information through an online portal.
We told how the man was shot by officers at Polvanie View on Thursday afternoon.
Police and fire crews swooped on the residential area at around 3pm amid reports of concern for a person and a property on fire.
On arrival, neighbours were evacuated from their homes as fire crews tackled the blaze.
At the scene a 40-year-old man was shot by armed police.
He was arrested in connection with the incident and rushed to Raigmore Hospital for treatment.
Later on Thursday we reported that the man remained in hospital with serious injuries.
His current medical condition is unknown at this time.
No other injuries have been reported.
On Friday, Highlands and Islands Police Division announced an online portal has been set up as part of their investigation.
Members of the public are being urged to submit photographs and information that could help with enquiries.
Anything uploaded to the form will be sent directly to the major incident team based in Inverness.
A police spokesperson said: "As part of ongoing enquiries into an incident in Polvanie View in Inverness yesterday, Thursday March 31, officers have set up an online portal and are asking members of the public to submit images and information.
"The Major Incident Public Portal (MIPP) is a website that gives people access to a form allowing them to send information directly to the major incident team based in Inverness."
A statement from Police Scotland on Thursday said the circumstances, as with any firearm deployment, have been referred to the Police Investigations and Review Commissioner ( Pirc ).
Meanwhile, the force added the incident was contained and said it does not pose any threat to the wider public.
Police patrols have been stepped up in the area for the coming days.
