An East Kilbride schoolboy took on the toughest ascent to the top of Ben Nevis raising over £900 for a children's cancer charity.
Jude Morrison, a pupil at South Park Primary, joined dad, Chris, along with a family friend and his son on the challenge in aid of Young Lives vs Cancer
It is is the UK's leading cancer charity for children, young people and their families and care teams provide specialist support across the UK.
With Chris already having reached the summit of Ben Nevis previously, active Jude decided he wanted to do the same and follow in his footsteps.
So on September 16, the 11-year-old and his group set off to complete two Munros in one day.
After a two-hour ascent to the North face of Ben Nevis, Jude turned his back on the giant and faced ‘Carn Mor Dearg’ standing at over 4000 feet high.
When this summit was reached he then took to the Arête - a very exposed grade one scramble with extreme winds and deadly drops on either side.
The final ascent was a steep and tiring scramble to the summit of Nevis with the challenge taking a gruelling 11 hours or so in total.
But the Whitehills lad, who is a goalkeeper with EK Burgh FC, enjoyed it so much he now has Everest in his sights.
"It was really tough but it was really good fun," he told Lanarkshire Live.
"I am so glad I pushed through and was happy to do it for such a worthwhile cause and that lives will be helped with the amount of money we have raised. All kids deserve to live long lives.
"I would love to climb another mountain definitely - maybe Everest one day. But mum says we might need a lottery win for that."
Jude had asked his parents several times to take on the climb but they felt previously he was a little too young - but last month decided to let him give it a go.
Proud dad, Chris, who was with his son every step of the way, said: "I watched my 11-year-old son charge on up the face of the mountain until he was almost out of sight, but unfortunately for me, fatigue started to heavily set in and I had to stop to compose my self.
"I heard a voice in the distance shout, 'Dad, c’mon this is the top, you can do it Dad'. I managed to push myself to the top just in time to see Jude place his hand on the trig point.
"He stood above every person in Britain and did it with ease. It was truly inspirational."
Jude was also supported by mum, Laura-anne and little brother, Chase, and his mum said the whole family couldn't be prouder.
"He is a very active and sporty boy who does so much as well as the football but even so, to take this on and succeed is an incredible achievement," Laura-anne added.
"It's tough for an adult due to the route they took never mind a child - it is just amazing. Even although his dad had done it before, it was Jude who got him through when he struggled.
"We also want to thank all our family, friends, work colleagues and Jude's school who have really got behind and supported him."
Jude's JustGiving page remains live and anyone wanting to support him and the charity can clink on the link.
