Internet fumes at viral photo of plane passenger’s ‘inconsiderate’ hair

Travelling by plane can be stressful at the best of times. Rushing to the airport two hours early to clear security, juggling carry-on luggage as you seek out your gate and, of course, dealing with other passengers.

Plane etiquette is very simple — all people have to do to ensure everyone is comfortable is employ basic manners. Some passengers however, whether out of sheer spite or pure ignorance, don’t seem to mind encroaching on others’ space.

One such plane passenger has caused uproar on Twitter for her “inconsiderate” hair after a picture was taken of her Rapunzel-length locks draped over the back of her seat.

It’s unclear where the picture was taken but the picture has gone viral before, and has been a bone of contention on the internet for quite some time.

Posting the picture to social media, a Twitter user by the name of Anthony asked: “Would this p*** you off?”

Anthony’s post quickly racked up almost 30,000 likes and almost 3,000 quote retweets.

One Twitter user replied to say it’s “completely inconsiderate and unnecessary”. Others also judged the woman’s lack of manners:

Some poked fun at the picture, with one user making a video edit of a pair of scissors snipping the woman’s hair:

Similar horror stories were also shared. One person told of how, during a flight, the passenger behind her insisted on using her armrest as a footrest.

Another shared that, a few years ago, a woman boarded a near-empty flight and sat directly in front of him before pulling a similar stunt.

Another video, showing a woman stick a lollipop and coffee in another woman’s hair, was also shared. Yes, it’s probably fake, but there is something satisfying about seeing this chaotic form of justice being carried out:

Perhaps like passports, hair ties and shoes should be made mandatory on all flights.

Although it’s annoying, it’s definitely not the worst in-flight behaviour we’ve seen recently.
