One of the UK’s only black female-owned members’ clubs will host two culinary events on the eve of International Women’s Day next month.
On March 7, Bingham Riverhouse in Richmond will first welcome female hospitality founders for an hour-long afternoon panel discussion, with names such as Queena Wong and Amelia Aragon joining the club’s founder Samantha Trinder for a talk exploring their roles in the industry.
Later, in the evening, a supper club hosted by Sabor’s Nieves Barragán Mohacho, Jodi Strang from Fallow, and Bingham’s Vanessa Marx and Rachel Able will take place, celebrating their cooking.
The two food-based events will sit among a host of others — from art to wellbeing sessions — and have been described by the club’s team as an “opportunity to come together, celebrate women’s achievements and break the bias.”
Trinder runs Bingham Riverside alongside her mum Ruth, who bought the riverside property 40 years ago.
Tinder said: “We’re thrilled to be hosting this diverse celebration of female talent for International Women’s Day.
“As a Black female in business, when most of the people in the room are all still male, it’s not an easy journey. This is why we’re so passionate about bringing women together and creating a space where we can share, connect and grow together”.
