A homecoming for the son of former Pittsburgh Steeler Joey Porter who gets selected by the Steelers with the 31st overall pick. Penn State corner Joey Porter Jr. becomes a new piece to a solid Steelers defense.
The former Nittany Lion has been solid his entire college career but truly experienced a breakout during his final season with Penn State. Porter played in ten games as a senior, where he had 9 pass breakups and surrendered a QB rating when targeted of just 63.6.
Porter will slide right into a starting spot outside in an already talented Steelers defense, where he can start right away. With a long body, great athletic profile, and high-end speed, Porter could easily develop into a top corner in the league.
