Christian Pulisic has scored his first World Cup goal to give the USA the lead over Iran in Qatar but appeared to suffer a thigh injury in the action that led to the opener.
Finishing off a flowing move at the back post after a headed knockdown across the box by fullback Sergino Dest, Pulisic scored a potentially huge goal for his nation.
Although Pulisic suffered some pain and required treatment after colliding with Iran keeper Alireza Beiranvand, he soon returned to action and finished the first half, although he did not reappear after the break.
