Instant analysis of the Steelers selection of OT Broderick Jones

There was no secret that the Pittsburgh Steelers loved Georgia offensive tackle Broderick Jones in the predraft process. All getting him cost the Steelers was a fourth-round pick to move up ahead of the New York Jets and draft him in the first round of the 2023 NFL draft.

Jones is an ideal fit for the Steelers at left tackle. A long, mauling run blocker who mirrors speed rushers. He will plug and play at left tackle and replace Dan Moore Jr. in the starting lineup. Jones and newly-acquired offensive guard Isaac Seumalo form an impressive new left side of the offensive line.

The backup plan here could be if Chuks Okorafor, currently the starting right tackle could make the switch to the left and Jones starts on the right side.
