Users of the popular photo-sharing network Instagram have reported they are experiencing issues with the app today. Reports have been flooding in, with thousands of users saying they are experiencing issues with the popular Meta-owned photo sharing social network.
The Instagram down reports began surging after 6pm UK time, with independent outage monitor Down Detector registering a big spike in Instagram down reports. Over 12,000 reports were lodged in relation to the service.
According to Down Detector stats, the vast majority of Instagram down reports are to do with problems with the Instagram app itself. As of 6.30pm, downdetector.com has recorded a peak of over 12,000 reports of Instagram down, with users across the USA and EU.

Out of the reported issues, 75 per cent of these are to do with the Instagram app itself, with 15 percent to do with the Instagram feed and 10 per cent relating to the website online. As the issues hit Instagram users took to Twitter to report the problems they were facing, and see if anyone else was experiencing technical issues.
For many users, the app displayed an error message saying something went wrong when they scroll to new feed content. One person on Twitter wrote: "Is #Instagram down for anyone else?". Another commented: "Is it me or is Instagram down again?"
Neither Instagram nor Meta, the company that owns Instagram, have issued an official statement. More to follow.
