As someone who's been riding since before Insta360 started putting out cameras, it's been interesting to watch the company's offerings targeted toward motorcyclists evolve. Unsurprisingly, as an action camera company, it's offered many a bundle aimed at different sports, from snorkeling to snowboarding to motorcycling.
And now, it's offering another one specifically for motorcyclists and their helmets. While the Insta360 Ace Pro 2 SuperMotocross Edition comes from a partnership with SMX champ Jett Lawrence, that doesn't mean that it's only meant for SMX riders.
What's included? Here's the full list: Insta360 Ace Pro 2 camera, a battery (which lasts a claimed 180 minutes before needing a charge), a128GB microSD card (Note: The Ace Pro 2 supports up to 1TB microSD cards, but does not include one), an Ace Pro 2 lens guard, Two (2) flexible adhesive camera mounts, and one Insta360 Helmet Chin Mount 2.0. That's a helluva deal.

As someone who's used multiple generations of Insta360 products while riding motorcycles (primarily on the street, to be clear), I appreciate a good helmet mount. I used Insta360's first-gen Helmet Chin Mount for a long time, and appreciated how easily I could swap it from one of my helmets to another with no special tools required (even though I usually have at least a few on me when I'm out riding).
While I haven't experienced the Helmet Chin Mount 2.0 for myself, a quick look at the Insta360 website shows that there's more than just a color change involved. The 1.0 version was black and orange, while the 2.0 is all black, but there are two significant feature changes on the 2.0 version. For one, there's now a native three-prong standard mount installed, so the mount can work with the widest possible variety of action cameras.
And for two, there's now a Mic Mount (hidden on the back side, so it should tuck nicely inside your helmet chin bar) that's laced into the straps of the Helmet Chin Mount 2.0. While it wasn't difficult to add a three-prong adapter to the 1.0, you don't want to know how many convoluted attempts I made to stick either lavalier mics or other small form-factor mic packs behind the straps inside my chin bar. This looks like a much-needed upgrade, and one that takes the wants and needs of riders into account.
Would it be nice if this pack came with a spare battery, or a larger capacity microSD card? Sure, but then it'd probably end up costing more. If you're reading this, the Insta360 Ace Pro 2 SuperMotocross Edition bundle will cost you just US$419.99 during the company's current Holiday Sale. Regular MSRP will be $509.99. Considering the fact that US$419.99 is the regular full price for the Ace Pro 2 camera just by itself, it seems like a solid choice if you've already been thinking about getting one and you also ride motorcycles (and wear helmets).
