During the past 24 hours, the outlook for Klay Thompson with the Warriors, both on and off the floor, has brought several questions and even more confusion. Thompson was benched down the stretch of the team’s 119–116 loss to the Suns on Tuesday after struggling throughout the first three-plus quarters.
It also appears that the Warriors reportedly put a contract offer on the table for Thompson this past offseason. But it’s no longer there, according to The Athletic’s Shams Charania.
“[Klay Thompson's] future has been in question…I’m told that the Warriors offered a deal, two years in the range of 48 million dollars in an extension to Klay Thompson before the season, and now there’s no deal,” Charania said on FanDuel’s Run It Back show.

It’s unknown exactly when the contract was reportedly taken off the table, but it’s noteworthy nonetheless.
Thompson scored seven points on 2-of-10 shooting while connecting on only one of his eight attempts from beyond the arc against Phoenix. Through 22 games this season, he’s averaging the fewest points per game (15.4) since his rookie season and has posted the lowest shooting percentage of his career both from the field (39.7%) and from three-point range (34.3%).
