Inside Westlife's Mark Feehily's stunning home sold for over €1 million

Mark Feehily 's eye for interior design certainly helped him sell his four-bedroom property for over the asking price of €1.15 million last summer.

The Westlife singer, 41, snapped up the stunning Sligo home that sits on the edge of Lough Gill in 2006 and spent years redesigning and renovating the countryside abode.

Mark, who shares two-year-old daughter Layla with fiancé Cailean O’Neill, oversaw every stage of the refurbishment - from drafting plans by hand for the builders to follow to sourcing furniture and sanitaryware.

His hard work clearly paid off, as with the help of estate agents Sherry Fitzgerald, The Masked Singer star was able to sell the property for over its asking price just two months after putting it on the market last summer.

With the property - originally built in the 1970s - boasting features like a recording studio, home bar, wine cellar, garage, and three acres of surrounding land, it's not hard to see why a bidding war ensured to take the stunning home off Mark's hands.

From the living room of the singer's former house, you can see Church Island to the north, considered by some to be the real inspiration for The Lake Isle of Innisfree.

The bathroom boasts a copper freestanding bath that overlooks stunning views, while the spacious kitchen comes complete with a huge dining area.

Mark's attention to detail even saw areas like staircases becoming interesting focal pieces - with the walls surrounding the stairs of his former home adorned with books and eye-catching ornaments.

The outside of the property is equally as impressive, with the private grounds offers the homeowner the peace and serenity of the Sligo countryside.

With a fire pit and a children's play area, the acres of land can also act as the perfect location to entertain friends and loved ones.

Over the years, Mark used the property as the perfect bolthole to escape to inbetween his hectic touring schedules.

The singer, who become a dad for the first time in 2019, is said to have made plans to purchase the idyllic property before he even step foot inside the house.

The generously arranged two-level ranch house, complete with cowboy bath and stellar views of Lough Gill and its 16 islands, now has a brand new owner to make new memories inside the grounds - after it was repor

Alongside making a pretty penny on the property market, Mark has plenty to celebrate in his professional life too - picking up a prestigious LGBTQ+ award earlier this year.

The Irish singer was awarded the Global Recognition Award for Diversity at the Burberry-sponsored British Diversity Awards last month, thanks to his tireless work as a vocal campaigner for surrogacy rights for LGBTQ+ families.

"This is an incredible honour and the most meaningful award I have collected in my career. I mean, I've won awards for my music and awards with Westlife but this is something very special," the dad-of-one said of being recognised at the prestigious awards ceremony.

"I am proud and I hope it goes some way towards highlighting the issues still faced by LGBT+ families who want to start families of their own."

He added: "There is still a lot to do and our work will not stop until we have achieved full equality."

Mark and Cailean welcomed daughter Layla into the world on 1 October, 2019, via a surrogate.

"All in all, all I can say is it's lovely because all I think about is her now, I don't have to think about myself so much," Mark told the Mirror shortly after becoming a father.

"I used to maybe overthink and question everything, so it's nice to actually have a break from that.

"All of your focus is on another little person and a tiny little smile from her at the moment is like winning the lottery or something, it's the best feeling in the world, so to get so much joy out of a tiny thing, it just puts everything into perspective, you know."
