Inside the Time100 mega-ball in New York

New York is certainly hotting up.

With the Met Gala mere days away, Time Magazine hosted its annual power-fest ball in celebration of their 100 most influential people of the year. Expectantly, there was no shortage of glamour.

Held at the Jazz at the Lincoln Center concert hall, the ceremony was hosted by Jennifer Coolidge, who was a coverstar of the Time100 issue, and did not disappoint in a bedazzled black v-neck gown and jewellery by Wempe.

Also stealing the show was Kim Kardashian, who showed off her Met Gala-ready physique in an archive, white satin gown with crystal studded buckle straps by John Galliano. She dressed it up with a conch shell clutch by Chanel, and stacks of diamond necklaces, in a look reminiscent of her pre-Paris robbery days.

The reality star and business mogul posed up a storm with Salma Hayek in a gothic-esque blue satin and black lace gown from Gucci. Her husband, François-Henri Pinault, is the CEO of Kering which owns the Italian label.

The acting set held court as the cool girls of the bash. Russian Doll’s Natasha Lyonne, wearing an embellished Area dress, buddied up with The White Lotus’ Aubrey Plaza in red satin mini by Carolina Herrera, and comedian and actor Amy Poehler, who glistened in a sparkling lavender frock.

Other stand out looks from the evening included Doja Cat in full Valentino, complete with sheer bra and red leather opera gloves, and Beef star and comedian Ali Wong, who took the opportunity to highlight her Vietnamese heritage in a traditional Ao Dai dress and magnificent headdress.

Kaia Gerber and Austin Butler (Getty Images for TIME)

Also making up Time’s top 100 was a mix of actors, including Michael B. Jordan, who wore a purple suit by Tom Ford, and Austin Butler, who took to the red carpet alongside girlfriend Kaia Gerber who served quiet luxury in a grey Khaite dress. Angela Bassett also made the cut, and opted for a gold embroidered suit by Indian couturier Gaurav Gupta, while Lea Michele who looked prom-ready in archive AW99 Thierry Mugler.

Top names missing from the event, but securing a place on the prestigious list, were Beyoncé, Bella Hadid, Pedro Pascal and Lionel Messi.
