The dark, dank internal corridors running through Coniston House in Mile End reek of damp and are dotted with puddles.
On the floor above is Martin Donkin's home. His belongings are piled high in the middle of his locked kitchen, set away from the walls which are wet to the touch and covered in thick mould. The paint has peeled off the walls to reveal ravaged plaster.
