Kenworthy Woods has been through a startling transformation in the last 30 years.
Once a scar on the landscape as the site of a south Manchester tip, it has now been unveiled as the city's latest nature reserve. Amazing photograph's taken by the MEN show the icy beauty of this area, given back to nature to become woodland in the 1990s.
The woods, which sit south of Chorlton Water Park, and are separated by the River Mersey, are set to be recognised by national and regional bodies.
