Inside Susanna Reid's busy schedule - from 3am wake-up to five-minute phone time

Susanna Reid is a staple in every household when she presents the news on ITV's Good Morning Britain.

The presenter's day starts a lot earlier than many people's as she has to be up and ready for the studio by 6am on weekdays.

The 52-year-old wakes up at around 3.40am where she gets ready for her busy day ahead.

She only gives herself five minutes on her phone before rushing to brush her teeth and put on her coat and get into the car for the studio.

Susanna uses the short moments in the car to catch up with the day's news and brief on the day's interviewees.

The star said it is 'a lot' to do and take in during the 25-minute car ride to the London Television Centre.

"My three boys split their time between myself and my ex," she said to The Sunday Times.

"The brilliant thing about my job is that so much of my working day is when they're still sleeping and I'm already at home by the time they're back from school or work."

Thankfully, a professional does her hair and make-up in the studio while she catches up on any work.

She usually doesn't have time to eat so she will snack on some apple or sunflower seeds during the ad breaks.

Her working day finished quite early so she usually gets to go home, nap, and then prepare some lunch.

By the time her children get home, she makes a tasty homecooked meal for them before getting back to work.

She has to debrief about the next day's programme before getting to sleep.

Susanna doesn't always stick to the schedule of going between her home and the studio as she recently travelled to Ukraine to present.

Last week, the TV presenter presented the show from Ukraine to mark one year since Russia invaded the country.

She told viewers: “I have come back and crossed from Poland this time into Ukraine. It’s taken hours because it is a massive country. It takes about 10 hours to get from Poland to here in Kyiv.”

Susanna described the devastation caused by the war, as she told viewers “nothing prepared me for what I would witness myself.”

Good Morning Britain airs weekdays at 6am on ITV.
