Stacey Solomon looked pretty in pink as she celebrated her impending arrival at a surprise baby shower. The Loose Women star is preparing to welcome her fifth child into the world any day now after announcing she was pregnant last month.
She thrilled fans when, on December 28, she took to Instagram to announce that she and her husband Joe Swash were expecting their third child together. Stacey, who affectionately calls her children 'pickles', and Joe are already proud parents to Rex, three, and one-year-old Rose.
Stacey also has older sons Zach, 14, and Leighton, 10, from previous relationships while Joe also has 15-year-old son Harry with his ex, Emma Sophocleous.
However, Stacey, who confirmed last week that her and Joe's impending arrival would be a baby girl in a sweet tribute to daughter Rose and her own sisters, then shocked her fans days after her pregnancy announcement with her first bump snaps as she confirmed she was already eight months pregnant.
The 33-year-old then had to explain: "When we found out we still wanted to have that first few months you usually would to adjust and get excited and enjoy it to ourselves." She added: "But that didn’t leave us with very long left so this time next month we will be getting ready to say hello to a whole new pickle. So grateful."
But with her baby girl set to make and entrance any day now, Stacey's sister Jemma got to work in organising a gorgeous baby shower for the mum-of-five-to-be. The pregnant TV star looked fabulous in a figure-hugging, off-the-shoulder pink dress as she was captured beaming from ear to ear while celebrating the imminent arrival of her second daughter.
She could be seen in the candid moment in the kitchen of her home, dubbed Pickle Cottage, which had been decked out with white flowers with a teddy bear hanging from the ceiling in a basket covered in balloons. The snaps also showed Stacey posing with Jemma, who placed a loving hand on her sister's grown bump, as well as her best pals Mrs Hinch and Charlotte Greedy.
A smiling Rose, who was born at home on Stacey's 32nd birthday in October 2021, also made a special appearance. "Baby Shower. In the kitchen," Stacey started the caption of her heart-warming post. "My sister surprised me and got our family and bestest friends into the kitchen yesterday to celebrate our newest baby girl…" she added before explaining the reason for the location: "Can’t leave close proximity of the house now until the main event."
The Sort Your Life Out host went on to say: "I honestly feel so grateful. I didn’t organise anything because firstly I didn’t think we’d have time, but also I felt like I maybe shouldn’t have one because I’ve been so lucky to have showered so many blessings already. Silly I know but hormones will do that to ya I suppose."
She rounded off her post: "I’m so grateful to my family & friends and everyone who’s made me remember how lucky we are to get to do this again and how every miracle can have a celebration. To the moon and back always." Mrs Hinch, aka Sophie Hinchliffe, was quick to reply as she typed in the comments: "The most beautiful day for our @staceysolomon , spent with the most beautiful girls! Love you all I'm still cracking up about our doppelgangers to be fair and my dirty taste in music. See you all soon ATB."
Taking to her Instagram Story, Stacey shared more videos and photo from the special occasion which was held on Friday night (January 27). "So late Friday night my sister turned up with some of our closest friends and set up a little baby shower celebration in my kitchen [crying emoji].
"I didn't think - 1 - we'd have a baby shower and - 2- I felt a bit silly for having a baby shower. I don't know why I just felt like I'd had too many already or something," Stacey typed as she showed off the incredible display which featured a delicious-looking spread of sweet and savoury treats with plenty of ballons and a sweet sign which read: "Stacey's Baby Shower."
