Inside Scott Mills' star-studded wedding: From celeb performances and bespoke gin station amid Radio 2 sacking

Scott Mills and his husband Sam Vaughan exchanged vows in at Xalet Del Nin, a breathtaking Mediterranean villa on the coast near Barcelona in 2024.

The 53-year-old BBC Radio 2 host and his producer husband’s nuptials attracted a slew of famous faces including Rylan Clark who shared a series of snaps from the incredible event.

The presenter captioned his post, “Best wedding ever. Love u both xx,” which featured photos with other celebrity guests including UK Eurovision alum Sam Ryder while Zoe Ball, Jordan North, Vick Hope and husband Calvin Harris were in attendance also.

During the intimate ceremony, Pixie Lott serenaded the couple with Ellie Goulding’s track How Long Will I Love You while Calum Scott performed You Are The Reason as they exchanged vows.

Mills’ former BBC Radio 1 co-host Chris Stark served as the Master of Ceremonies for the event, which took place against a stunning sea backdrop. Before the ceremony, guests were given personalised maracas and fans baring a photo of the happy couple together.

The newlyweds looked handsome in matching black tuxedos and bow ties, as they stood on their striking green alter, surrounded by an abundance of local flora and fauna.

After saying “I Do”, the sealed their union with kiss under a plume of rainbow-coloured smoke.

During the cocktail hour, where guests were treated to an Aperol corner and bespoke gin station provided by Hensol Castle Distillery, attendees were asked to write wedding wishes for the happy couple.

Meanwhile, finger food on offer included tacos, brownie bits and fruit platters.

The couple’s celebration continued into the early hours with exclusive performances from Ryder and a set from DJ Joel Corry.

Before sitting down for dinner, the newlyweds entered the reception to Becky Hill, David Guetta, and Ella Henderson’s hit Crazy What Love Can Do while standing pyrotechnics went off behind them.

Reflecting on their special day, Mills shared: “We both had the most incredible day. Celebrating with our close friends and family in Spain was truly special.

“We're excited to spend the rest of our lives together.”

On Monday, it was reported that Mills had been fired by the BBC following an allegation over his “personal conduct”.

The presenter was reportedly taken off his Radio 2 show last Tuesday while bosses assessed the claim and was told his contract was terminated at the weekend.

The BBC said: “While we do not comment on matters relating to individuals, we can confirm Scott Mills is no longer contracted to work with the BBC.”

The broadcaster said he had been dismissed following allegations relating to his personal conduct, though no further details were provided.
