Rebel Wilson has given fans an inside look at her £1880-a-night Austrian health retreat stay.
The 42-year-old actress first stayed at the Vivamayr Altaussee in 2019 and previously credited the luxury wellness centre for kickstarting her fitness journey.
On Wednesday, the Pitch Perfect star revealed that she had returned to the alpine medical health resort alongside pal and actress Melanie Griffith to “reset her system” for the remainder of the “working year”.
Taking to Instagram to showcase her latest break, the actress donned a white tennis-inspired miniskirt and green V-neck jumper as she posed in front of the jaw-dropping Austrian scenery.
Captioning the shot, she penned: “Oh it’s soooo gooood to be back at @vivamayraltaussee. Working the Mayr method to reset my system for the rest of the working year!”
The Bridesmaid actress, who is staying in the £1880-a-night Park Residenz apartment, then took to her Instagram Story on Thursday to give fans a glimpse of what a day at the health resort really looks like.
The movie star explained that she starts her day at 7am with a 90-minute walk around the resort before attending appointments for cryotherapy, osteopathy, hypoxytraining, functional training and a SalinAir inhalation booth.
Sharing on her social media, she told her followers: “It’s 7am. I’m going to kick start my day by going for a 90minute walk all around this lake. It really is just so stunning here.
“So normally when I’m out here walking, I have my VivaMayr water bottle, hydrating and then I’m normally listening to some kind of podcast or my favourite music playlist to make the walk go faster.”
“Walk’s over and now a quick change,” she continued in another clip. “I’m in my swimsuit now, heading to cryotherapy it’s not the funniest thing to do because when you see this Cryo room, it’s hardcore, it’s no joke.
“But then I feel really proud of myself. I’m going to try get a new record today. I think my record is two minutes 20 seconds from yesterday.
“It makes me feel anxious but it’s really good for burning that body fat and it only takes a few minutes so here we go.”
Not only does the wellness retreat focus on exercise and body therapies but it also centres around diet with Wilson sharing what a typical breakfast looks like and the supplements she’s encouraged to take.
Wilson added: “I’ve got the avocado mousse, the Manchego cheese, which is my absolute favourite, and an oat roll - and that’s linseed oil.
“I’m on like this co-enzyme Q10 and calcium magnesium they give you all the supplements to take.”
VivaMayr explains on their website that they create tailored health programs, developed by Austrian physician Dr Franz Xaver Mayr, for their clients during their stay.
Wilson’s 36kg weight loss was previously attributed to the health resort’s Mayr Method, a diet which eliminates certain foods, reduces sugar and also encourages certain eating practices such as chewing food thoroughly, but insisted “this was never my diet.”
However, the Senior Year star has credited the wellness centre for helping kickstart her health journey after a VivaMayr doctor advised her to take up walking, which she said was the secret to her weight loss.
She shared on the Apple Fitness+ podcast in 2020: “An Austrian doctor said, ‘Rebel, the best way for you to lose unwanted body fat is by simply walking. It doesn’t have to be high-intensity, just moderate walking an hour a day.
“Sometimes, the simplest thing is the kindest thing to your body, and your body will respond to that. And if you can do that, for you, for your body type, it’s, like, the best way to lose unwanted body fat.”
It’s not just Wilson who is a fan of the uber luxe resort but Kate Moss, Elizabeth Hurley, Karlie Kloss and Jourdan Dunn as well as the Rolling Stones who have all travelled to the health spot for some R&R.
The retreat is so popular among Hollywood it even featured on the big screen in James Bond’s Spectre.
