Inside Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's 'all-American' birthday for Lilibet

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle threw an 'all-American affair' for their daughter Princess Lilibet, in celebration of her second birthday.

Royal expert and journalist Jennie Bond told OK! Magazine ahead of the celebrations held in California that she "would expect to see a sprinkling of celebrities and a laid-back party, which hopefully will include some other toddlers".

She added: "It would be nice to think the day might include a video call to Lilibet’s grandfather, King Charles III, and hopefully some sort of gift has been arranged and will be delivered to Montecito for her birthday.”

A separate source claimed that King Charles “had his aides looking at custom-made cubby houses, similar to what the Queen and Princess Margaret had when they were girls," reports Page Six.

“He wants to give Lili something she will use and be hers,” the tabloid’s source said.

“She’ll remember it forever – it’s going to be the ultimate surprise. Harry has warned Charles [however] to be less extravagant.”

However, following the celebrations , reports across the globe have claimed King Charles and the rest of 'The Firm' snubbed the toddler.

King Charles' youngest grandchild turned two on Sunday, but messages from the monarch or any of the family did not appear on official websites or social media platforms throughout the day.

Lilibet, who is the youngest child of Harry, 38, and Markle, 41, was born in California, where her parents relocated after stepping back from their royal duties in 2020.

Meanwhile, her older brother, Prince Archie, was born in the UK.

Last month, he publically celebrated his fourth birthday at home in California.

His big day fell on the same date as the coronation of Charles, 74, who reportedly raised a toast to the youngster during an intimate family gathering in London.

At the Coronation, King Charles toasted Archie “wherever he was” and to “those that weren’t there,” a source told the Daily Mail.

And despite Harry attending the historic coronation, he swiftly returned to California to celebrate his son's "intimate" birthday party less than 24 hours after he landed in London.

His brief appearance left many members of the royal family wondering why he even bothered to show up at all.

“One makes one’s choices. To be honest there wasn’t much talk of Harry at all. The focus was very much on the occasion,” a source close to the family told Vanity Fair.

The insider also told the outlet that Harry didn’t see or speak to his estranged family outside of the televised ceremony.

Tensions have been high between both parties since Harry and Markle resigned from their royal duties. Their relationship with the royal family fractured even further after the release of Harry’s tell-all memoir, “Spare,” and their joint Netflix series, “Harry & Meghan.”
