There's just no stopping Disney and Pixar's animated sequel 'Inside Out 2' as the emotions run rampage at the box office.
The film which entered its second weekend at the box office, has declared its supremacy as it was crowned 2024's highest-earning film. As it began its second weekend, the film added $30.5 million on Friday, bringing its domestic total to $285.7 million. This impressive collection surpassed the earnings of 'Dune: Part Two', which netted $282 million. 'Inside Out 2' managed to attain this record in just eight days of its theatrical release.
Globally, 'Inside Out 2' has grossed $545.1 million as reported on Friday. The overseas total stands at $259.4 million, with an additional $32.7 million coming in on Friday alone. The film is achieving remarkable numbers in international markets. In Mexico, it is set to surpass $50 million, while Italy recorded the highest-grossing first Friday for a Hollywood title ever, with earnings of $9.3 million.
The top five international markets are Mexico ($49.3 million), the UK ($21.6 million), Korea ($20.1 million), Germany ($13.1 million), and Argentina ($12.3 million).
According to Deadline, 'Inside Out 2' is on track to reach a global total of $650 million by the end of its second weekend.
Additionally, the film has a chance to set a new record for the biggest second weekend ever for an animated movie, potentially surpassing last year's 'The Super Mario Bros. Movie', which earned $92.3 million in its second weekend. Regardless of whether it hits this milestone, 'Inside Out 2' is already a massive success for Disney and Pixar.
