Inside MTC Rentals' Mission to Support and Safeguard Canada's Most Remote Workforces Through Efficient First Aid Vehicles

MTC Rentals, a first-aid vehicle rental company, is built on the belief that access to emergency care is a fundamental right for every Canadian worker, wherever their job site, and regardless of its distance from the public grid.

As a provider of mobile treatment centers and emergency transport vehicle rentals, the MTC Rentals, owned by former paramedic Dion Siluch, supports the industry's operating far beyond 911 coverage, supplying specialized first aid units required by law on job sites with six or more workers.

Siluch emphasizes that mandatory compliance is critical for safety across high-risk industrial sites, from power line installations to mining operations. "Legislation mandates certified first aid response vehicles on any site considered outside the public sphere," he says, noting that these vehicles must be capable of reaching workers through rugged terrain. "In Canada, if you go 200 km into the bush, you're truly in the middle of nowhere. And in those situations, even if you're out of the jurisdiction, our 4x4 units are designed to reach you and get you out of there."

Now operating across British Columbia and Alberta, MTC Rentals supports projects that may be operating where bears, ice roads, and steep forestry replace paved highways and street signs. "This is where specialized emergency transport vehicles are as essential as excavators or generators," he notes.

According to Siluch, MTC's fleet of fully stocked 4x4 mobile treatment centers is built for precisely these environments, with industry specifications and options that allow customers to bring their own medical equipment or rely on MTC to provide and stock the interior.

With flexibility as the core of the model, Siluch highlights that companies can rent the vehicle for a few days or secure units for year-long operations. MTC Rentals are designed to serve crews of all scales.

Its coverage options span short-term, long-term, 24-hour, and out-of-town deployments, supporting tree-planting teams, film crews, utilities, mining sites, gold exploration camps, forestry operations, and large infrastructure projects that require seamless logistics and clear accountability.

To support clients who require more than vehicles, MTC Rentals also partners with Vital Safety to provide industrial medic and safety services. Through this collaboration, Siluch highlights that customers can access emergency medical responders, paramedics, and nurses, and NCSO safety officers, aimed at offering the right expertise available for both local and remote environments.

"Compliance is absolute in this industry. Everything from how many bandages are required to the appropriate level of care is spelled out in legislation, which makes our precision vital," Siluch notes. "Each practitioner can either stock the unit with their own equipment, or we can supply it. It depends on their preference and their protocols." The hands-off nature of the model is intentional, allowing each site's medical team to retain full responsibility for care while MTC supplies the equipment.

From there, MTC prioritizes seamless execution through reliable communication, clear budgeting, responsive follow-ups, and direct delivery to the job site. The approach is designed to make safety compliance straightforward and eliminate the friction that may often come with remote logistics.

The company's origins, however, began with a very personal perspective on emergency response. Before launching MTC Rentals, Siluch spent five years as a paramedic, which exposed him to both the human stakes of emergency work and the realities of Canada's vast geography. His transition into business was sparked unexpectedly, through a shortage of first aid vehicles, and he eventually contracted his own ambulance. That side-hustle, combined with his lived experience, evolved into a full-scale enterprise, which continues to shape MTC's credibility.

Siluch is also the author of Life-Changing Paramedic Stories, a collection of his firsthand accounts from the field. "It adds a layer of authenticity to the brand, reinforcing that behind each vehicle is someone who understands exactly what's at stake when emergency care is needed in the most remote parts of the country," he says.

Today, as MTC Rentals brings its trusted and specialized service model to Canada's unique landscape, it aims to uphold the responsibility companies carry to protect their teams within those landscapes. By providing quality industrial first aid response vehicles to those who need them, the company, guided by Dion Siluch, promotes collaboration across industries and strives to contribute to a future where remote work no longer has to mean increased risk.
