Inside Marnie Simpson's wedding with 7 dresses, Geordie Shore guests but no bridesmaids

Marnie Simpson has revealed she wore not one but SEVEN wedding dresses when tying the knot last month.

The reality TV star star, 31, Casey Johnson married on the 22nd March at Bassmead Manor Barns surrounded by her Geordie Shore co-stars and loved-ones.

In an eye-catching Galisa Grace dress with a cut-out bodice and matching veil – the first of three gowns she wore on the day – Marnie was walked down the aisle with stepfather Eric ahead of exchanging vows with Casey.

"I saw Casey and my friends and family and I felt at ease," the mum-of-two recalls when looking back on her special day.

"Marnie walking down the aisle is a once-in-a-lifetime experience – I’ll never forget that feeling," Casey, 27, adds when speaking with OK! magazine. "I was focused on her, it felt like no one else was there. It was incredible."

The newlyweds were joined by around 80 loved ones as they became husband and wife last month, including their two children Rox, three, and 10-month-old Oax and Marnie's former co-stars Charlotte Crosby, Holly Hagan, Nathan Henry and Sophie Kasaei.

"It’s always so fun when any of the Geordies get together," Marnie laughs when remembering the reception. "At one point I think I forgot I was at my wedding – I felt like I was just on a night out. It was like Geordie Shore all over again. It got really wild at the end; this always happens whenever the Geordies are in town. Things just get messy!"

The couple's eldest son had a special part to play during the nuptials, acting as ring bearer for his mum and dad as they tied the knot.

After officially becoming Mr and Mrs Johnson, Marnie and Casey headed to their drinks reception - where the bride slipped into a second gown after making sure she had a total of seven available to her on the day.

"Because the dresses were so white, I worried about holding the baby and getting sick on me, or someone spilling a drink," Marnie explains to OK!. "I took loads of reserves just in case."

Marnie's second dress was a vintage ruffled number with beaded gloves and marked a stark change from the gown she walked down the aisle in.

The newly wed admits it is "without doubt" her favourite dress from the day thanks to its nod to the 1920s and that era of fashion.

While she may have had seven dresses, Marine didn't have a single bridesmaid following her down the aisle on her way to becoming a married woman.

The bride explains she went solo because she put together the whole event in three months and "didn’t have time to organise" dresses.

Craig Johnson-Pass, Marnie’s agent, acted as the star's man-of-honour and said a few words about their special friendship during the reception.

Marnie became engaged to Casey in August 2020 after the former X Factor contestant got down on one knee during a romantic date night.

However, the happy couple had originally planned to say "I do" in 2021 following the ending of the coronavirus lockdown restrictions but they postponed their day.

But while being surrounded by some of her nearest and dearest including her former co-stars, the couple married on Wednesday March 22 and filmed the entire event for fans to see.

In recent weeks, the raven-haired beauty had been preparing herself for the day by having baby botox and having her eyelashes done.

Prior to deciding to postpone her wedding, Marnie and Casey had already locked in their venue after immediately falling in love with it and had a spring date in mind.

But in 2021, she said: "I've got no intention of getting married anytime soon, I've got enough stress on my plate."

The newlyweds met one another back in 2017 after appearing on the programme Married AF and their relationship has gone from strength to strength over the years.

Just two years later, they went on to welcome their first son, Rox, before their second, Oax, in May 2022.

While Marnie found fame on MTV, Casey appeared as one-eighth of the X Factor boyband, Stereokicks alongside Chris Leonard and New Hope Club singer Reece Bibby.

He briefly went on to appear as one-quarter of Union J following the departure of George Shelley in 2016.
