Jeremy Renner has undergone two surgeries and remains in intensive care after suffering serious injuries in a horror weather-related accident.
The 51-year-old Avengers star "suffered blunt chest trauma and orthopaedic injuries" in a snow ploughing accident near his home.
He is now reportedly "conscious, stable and speaking" and underwent the surgeries as part of his "long road to recovery," according to Extra.
He is said to have been ploughing snow following a "massive storm" on New Year's Eve when the injury occurred. Jeremy was then airlifted to hospital on Sunday after the incident.
Jeremy's family have spoken out to thank the "incredible doctors and nurses looking after him" and his Marvel co-stars have sent their thoughts and prayers to Jeremy.
"We can confirm that Jeremy has suffered blunt chest trauma and orthopaedic injuries and has undergone surgery today, January 2nd 2023," his reps said in a statement.
The statement, provided to the PA news agency, continued: "Jeremy’s family would like to express their gratitude to the incredible doctors and nurses looking after him, Truckee Meadows Fire and Rescue, Washoe County Sheriff, Reno City Mayor Hillary Schieve and the Carano and Murdock families.
"They are also tremendously overwhelmed and appreciative of the outpouring of love and support from his fans."
Stars have flocked to social media to offer their well-wishes to Jeremy, with his Avengers co-star James Gunn tweeting: "My heart is with @JeremyRenner."
Mark Ruffalo, who starred alongside Jeremy as the Hulk, wrote on his Instagram Story: "Prayers up for our brother on a full and speedy recovery. Please send healing goodness his way."
Loki star Tara Strong tweeted: "My sweet @JeremyRenner. Loved you for decades. From a Senior Trip to the #MCU. Sending you & your closest healing love, light & strength for a full recovery."
Jeremy is thought to have been injured in an area near the Mount Rose Highway, which links Lake Tahoe and south Reno, straddling the Nevada-California border.
New details are emerging with TMZ reporting that the plough, a Snowcat, accidentally ran over one of the actor's legs, leading to major blood loss.
One neighbour, a doctor, put a tourniquet on Jeremy's legs until paramedics arrived.
Police arrived at the scene around 8pm on Sunday night, impounding the plough.
A video has emerged showing Jeremy being airlifted to a helicopter to take him to hospital.
The clip, obtained by TMZ, starts just after the Oscar nominated actor was loaded onto the helicopter on Sunday morning.
Eyewitnesses told the publication that Jeremy was ploughing the road near his Tahoe home so his family could get out after a New Year's Eve storm.
The Washoe County Sheriff's Office in Nevada said in a news release that it is investigating the incident.
Jeremy has a number of snow ploughs at his home at Lake Tahoe.
He has renovated a large number of fire trucks, ambulances, and snow ploughs to help the area handle wildfires and snowstorms, according to DailyMail.com.
The Hollywood star has previously spoken about the enormous amount of snow at his ranch.
Just last month Jeremy tweeted a picture of a car which was buried under a blanket of snow.
"Lake Tahoe snowfall is no joke #WinterWonderland," he wrote.
Last year, he took to Instagram to share a clip of himself operating a huge plough outside his home at Lake Tahoe as he battled the elements.
"I have so much respect for Mother Earth , and Mother Nature … I expect to lose the fight but I’ll always give it my best shot #tahoelife life #snowthrower," he wrote alongside the video.
