Jamie Foxx's family and friends are thought to be "hoping for the best but preparing for the worst," as the actor remains in hospital a month after suffering a "serious medical complication".
The 55-year-old was rushed to hospital while working on his upcoming Netflix film, Back In Action, alongside Cameron Diaz.
Since arriving at hospital, Jamie has thanked fans for their abundance of well-wishes and his daughter Corinne Foxx has said she is grateful for all of the support.
While famous faces such as Jeremy Renner and Courteney Cox have reached out to support their friend, it's still not entirely clear what happened to Jamie on April 13.
Here, we take a look at all we do know about the mystery illness and events that have occurred since the news first broke.
Emergency on set
The actor is said to have needed immediate medical attention after being taken to hospital while he was in Atlanta filming his upcoming Netflix movie Back in Action.
The complication remains unknown but his daughter Corinne, 29, explained doctors had been treating the Django star with "great care".
Taking to Instagram shortly after the emergency, Corinne said: "We wanted to share that my father, Jamie Foxx, experienced a medical complication yesterday.
"Luckily, due to quick action and great care, he is already on his way to recovery. We know how beloved he is and appreciate your prayers. The family asks for privacy during this time. Much love, The Foxx Family."
Body double replacement
With Back In Action still having scenes to shoot, it's thought that Jamie's body double stood in to complete the filming.
Photos showed the star's double-donning the same buzz-cut and facial hair on set alongside Cameron Diaz.
It's unclear exactly how many scenes were left to film without Jamie, but the movie is set to go ahead with its release date later this year.
Lucky to be alive
Following the incident, a source told Radar Online how Jamie was "lucky to be alive".
The insider said it was "touch and go" at first following the medical condition, telling the publication: "Jamie suffered a serious medical episode and needed immediate attention. It was touch and go for days with him, and he had to be revived — he is very lucky to be alive!"
Family and friends of the White House Down star have continued to ask for prayers, with close pal Charles Alston taking to Instagram earlier this week pleading with fans.
In the post, Charles said: "We need you back Bro. As I always state a true champion isn't the one that wins, it's the one that meets & overcomes adversity!! Your test becomes your testimony!!"
Breaking silence
While those around him issued sparing statements regarding his progress, it took Jamie three weeks to address the issue.
In a brief statement to Instagram on Wednesday, Jamie said he was "feeling blessed" by the outpour of support that he has received.
On a plain background, he wrote: "Appreciate all the love!!! Feeling blessed." His words were followed by emojis of praying hands, a love heart and a fox.
The Oscar winner later thanked Nick Cannon and Kelly Osbourne for stepping in to cover his and his daughter's roles on Beat Shazam.
Celebrity well wishes
The world of showbiz was united in their outpour of emotions for the star in the weeks that followed the news breaking.
Among those keeping Jamie in their prayers was Courteney Cox, who replied to his Instagram post with two praying hands emojis and a black heart.
Jeremy Renner, who also recently suffered a medical emergency after being crushed by a snow plough, shared a positive message too, writing: "Sending you strength and love."
Singer Mary J Blige wrote "Love you Jamie", while actor Ansel Elgort, who starred alongside Foxx in 2017’s Baby Driver, said: "You are the greatest Jamie, please make a speedy recovery.
"You are a blessing to this world, we need you in it."
A number of other famous faces sent supportive words, including singer John Legend, actor Vin Diesel and Nick Cannon.
'Preparing for the worst'
As Jamie remains in hospital, a source close to the situation told RadarOnline that his family and friends are hoping the actor will make a full recovery but are "preparing for the worst".
They said doctors are still trying to get to the bottom of what happened, adding: "He wouldn’t be in a hospital this long if he was anything close to OK."
Condition stabilised
Last week, Jamie's condition was said to have improved, with sources claiming doctors are doing more tests before allowing him to leave and have advised him to "keep his stress level down".
"Jamie is stable and not in a life-threatening situation now," the source told People.
"[Doctors] are doing more tests and want to be completely sure that he will be okay before allowing him to leave the hospital."
