Inside England Women's wild dressing room celebrations after amazing Euro 2022 triumph

England's Lionesses celebrated beating Germany in the Euros final with an impromptu disco in their Wembley dressing room.

Sarina Wiegman's women emerged victorious following a breathtaking 2-1 win after extra-time in front of more than 87,000 fans. The joyful scenes later moved from the dressing room to the post-match press conference as they interrupted their manager by storming the room and belting out a joyful chorus of Three Lions.

Wearing their newly-won medals, the heroic players filmed themselves singing and breaking out their best dance moves as their historic victory slowly settled in.

Captain Leah Williamson shared a video of her teammates dancing around the Euro 2022 trophy, which took pride of place on the floor in the middle of the changing room.

The sporting stars they sang along to River Deep Mountain High by Ike and Tina Turner and Everytime We Touch by Cascada.

Goalkeeper Mary Earps, who pulled off some important saves in the nail-biting final, beamed at the camera as she clinched her medal between her teeth.

Ella Toone, who scored the game's opening goal in the second half, took to her Instagram stories with a video of her singing and flashing her winner's medal.

The video was captioned: “Best day of my life. Thanks for all the messages! Get back to you tomorrow. Not ignoring people am just having a ball.”

The good-natured scenes then continued into the press conference as they broke up proceedings with chants of "it's coming home".

England's manager tugged at the nation's heart strings as she opened up about her sister who passed away just weeks before the tournament kicked off.

Wiegman said: “I kissed this little arm band that was my sister’s. She passed away during our prep camps.

“That was a big miss, she was my mate, and she was on the crossbar today. She would have been here. I’m really proud of her. For the first time in years I had a beer. I don’t like it but I enjoyed it. First we will party. I am really pleased how we accomplished it.”

Wiliamson added: "I just can't stop crying. With something like this, we talk and talk and we finally done it. It's about doing it on the pitch and I tell you what, the kids are alright.

"It's the proudest moment of my life - until the day I have kids I suppose. I am going to lap it up. Every single piece of advice I got was to take every single second in because you're going to want to relive it over and over and I'll be reliving that for a long time. The legacy of this tournament is a change in society. It's everything we've done.

“We've bought everyone together. We've got people to come to games and we want them to come to WSL games but the legacy of this team is winners and this is the start of the journey."

In a message shared on the Royal Family Twitter account, the Queen said: “My warmest congratulations, and those of my family, go to you all on winning the European Women’s Football Championships.

“You have all set an example that will be an inspiration for girls and women today, and for future generations.”

The Duke of Cambridge, who is president of the Football Association and presented Sarina Wiegman’s side with their medals, also congratulated the team, tweeting: “An incredible win @lionesses and the whole nation couldn’t be prouder of you all.

“Wonderful to see history in the making tonight at Wembley, congratulations! W.”

England men’s captain Harry Kane wrote on Twitter: “Absolutely unreal scenes at Wembley!! Massive congrats to the amazing @Lionesses !! @ellatoone99 take a bow for that finish too.”
