Michael Wildman may be best known for playing love rat Al Chapman on ITV’s Emmerdale but away from the cameras the actor is a loving husband, father and family man.
The 49-year-old soap star has been building an impressive acting CV since the 1990s – featuring in TV shows including Smack The Pony, Extras and Silent Witness.
While on the big screen he played the centaur Magorian in Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, a CRI agent in The Bourne Ultimatum, and as Robert Vass in Spooks: The Greater Good – and has also featured in other blockbusters including London Has Fallen, Ready Player One and Fast and Furious spin-off Hobbs & Shaw.
The actor is married to Welsh singer and actress Ceri Ann Gregory, 49, who he married in 2018 and together they share an eight-year-old son named Lucas.

Ceri herself has performed in a classical music-meets rock music band called Elysium alongside New Zealand soprano Amelia Whiteman, and mezzo soprano Annalise Wittlesea, from Somerset – and her acting credits include roles on sketch comedy series Little Britain and sci fi adventure show Torchwood.
The family keep a relatively low profile, but Ceri sometimes grants fans access to their wholesome lives via her Instagram account.
The loved-up couple and their son spent lockdown together where Lucas celebrated two birthdays – with Ceri showing off their tasteful living room which was decorated to mark the young lad’s seventh birthday last year.
The family home has a fireplace with red bricks which sits against teal-green walls, cream-coloured shelves, and a large-screen television.
While Ceri showed off part of the family kitchen while celebrating her own lockdown birthday last year – with marble topped surfaces and plenty of flowers on display.
The camera has also captured part of the couple's bedroom in the past as well – with an ornate sculpture on the wall, a chic table lamp, and a large free-standing mirror.
Michael has previously opened up about the fact his son misses him when he has to leave the family home to film Emmerdale in Yorkshire.
He said during an appearance on Loose Women in 2020: “My son had a little bit of anxiety issues when I first started the job.
“When they come into consciousness, around four or five, [before] I could leave and do two weeks away…shoot stuff and come back and ‘daddy’s back!’ Now he’s asking, ‘how many sleeps?’ and it’s hard.”
He continued: “The first month on the job he was crying when I left and I hadn’t experienced that before.
“My wife, she’s also in the game, she’s a singer and an actress, when she has to go away she experiences the same thing. So I had to get used to that on this particular job.”
Michael has appeared on Emmerdale since 2019 – with his character rocking the peaceful lives in the ‘Dales as he was two timing Priya Sharma, played by Fiona Wade, and Debbie Dingle, played by Charley Webb.
Speaking on Loose Women last year, Michael explained that fans thankfully appreciate that he is not a love cheat in real life.
He said: “Luckily no. I mean, people who know me and even where I live everyone’s really supportive of what I’m doing in the show. They know who I am and I’m pretty sure I don’t share any traits with Al.”
