Ellie Warner's boyfriend Nat Eddleston made a cameo on Gogglebox in 2020 when he stood in for sister Izzi during the height of the pandemic.
The plumber, 31, is said to be "fighting for his life" after reportedly being hit by a car after meeting friends for a drink at a pub in Leeds last Friday night.
Nat temporarily filled in for Izzi back in 2020 as lockdown rules prevented households from mixing, with show bosses being able to film the show by keeping the cast and crew apart.
Viewers were quick to warm to him- so much so some viewers took to Twitter begging bosses to make him a permanent fixture.
One fan wrote at the time: "I know its not the world's greatest issue but I missed Nat and his excellent array of brightly coloured socks on this week's gogglebox. And as Izzi lives in a different house from Ellie and Nat, surely she shouldn't have returned to the Ellie / Nat household during lockdown?"
While another viewer added: "Made my day that @ellieandizzi are back on #Gogglebox together but where’s poor old Nat gone....room for two on that sofa! #givethemanaseat"
"Nat and Ellie off Gogglebox are class", a third chimed.
Ellie first mentioned Nat on the show in 2018, with the couple moving in together in March last year after buying a semi-detached house in Leeds.
Shocked Gogglebox fans have flooded the family with supportive messages on Twitter, after reports emerged Nat suffered from a broken neck and two collapsed lungs - while it was also reported there were fears he had suffered brain damage.
West Yorkshire Police confirmed the road in Halton, Leeds, was cordoned off on Saturday morning, as they gave an update on his condition.
They said: "The pedestrian remains in a critical but stable condition and inquiries are ongoing."
On Tuesday, Nat, was said to be living hour by hour in intensive care after the traumatic incident.
As the show aired on Friday night, Ellie and her sister Izzi understandably did not appear at all in the wake of the accident, while Ellie has yet to comment on what happened.
Fans of the much-loved show have sent their prayers to Ellie since the weekend, as she waits by her boyfriend's bedside.
Underneath the star's most recent snap of her boyfriend, which sees him holding a piece of kebab meat in a Valentine's Day tribute, thousands have left sweet comments to Ellie.
One person wrote: "Sending you lots of love. I had the same injuries 30 years ago in an accident and although it’s a tough road he will get through it, I’m only saying this so you know people get through it. Sending lots of positive vibes to you xx"
A second shared: "Thinking of you all Ellie. Hope Nat makes a fast recovery. It happened 2 mins from us."
Another commented: "Sending Positive Thoughts."
