Irish actress Carrie Crowley has enjoyed a long and successful career, between presenting major television shows to demonstrating her acting chops.
Known for being fluent in the Irish language, she starred as Eibhlín Kinsella in the 2022 coming-of-age drama Oscar-nominated film An Cailín Ciúin.
It the first Irish-language film to be nominated for an Oscar and was up for Best International Feature Film at the 95th Academy Awards on Sunday but missed out to All Quiet on the Western Front.

Where is Carrie from?
Carrie was born as Caroline Anne Crowley on 23 May 1964, making her 58 years old.
She is originally from Waterford and worked as a primary school teacher before pursuing acting.
What else has Carrie acted in?
Carrie has had a long career on RTÉ, including starring on The Morbegs and Echo Island. She even had her own chat show called Limelight.
Eurovision fans will be familiar with the actress as well after she co-presented the Eurovision Song Contest in 1997 with Ronan Keating.
Carrie has an incredible television career after appearing on The Clinic, School Run, An Crisis and as Ellisef in the first two seasons of the TV series Vikings.
Soap viewers will recognise her for portraying Jackie Ferguson on the RTÉ soap opera Fair City from 2014 until 2019.
She currently plays Mairead Noonan in the RTE’s hit drama series Smother.
How did Carrie meet her husband?
Carrie met her husband Ross Kelly in 1996 in Dublin. She described herself as a “commitment-phobe” around this time, but stated that meeting him changed that.
The Gaeilgeoir wasn’t sure about Ross at first, but recalled that one night he arrived at her house to bring her to dinner, four months after they met.
When she answered the door to him, she was struck with a thought about how head over heels in love she was with him.
Carrie has shared how supportive Ross is of her career, with him even able to quote lines from plays she has starred in.
When did Carrie and Ross get married?
Seven years after they first met, Ross popped the big question to her in 2003.
The An Cailín Ciúin star was on holidays with him when he proposed. She initially thought he was joking, but when she realised he wasn’t, she burst into tears.
They tied the knot in 2004 in New York at Ross’ brother’s pub. The couple had a very spiritual ceremony which was done by an inter-faith minister.
