Inside bizarre Airbnb with snakeskin roof where guests can stay for £3k per week

Airbnb guests have stumbled across a bizarre snake house with a roof that appears to be made of reptile skin.

Holidaymakers will gush over Casa Acantilado, which has been described as a Spanish oasis with sweeping sea views.

But bizarrely, the roof has a unique design quirk – a snakeskin effect, which makes it glisten in the sun.

Nestled within the cliffs of Salobreña, Andalucia, the property can be booked for a sizeable £425 per night, setting guests back £2,975 for a one-week stay.

Those fortunate enough to visit the villa will immediately notice its striking architecture, which appeared to be inspired by the curve of the waves.

The luxury pad is surrounded by land and mountains, while benefitting from uninterrupted views of the Mediterranean.

The property has a modern open plan layout with floor-to-ceiling windows, bringing the outside in.

Spread across two storeys, it's minimal in design with crisp white walls to reflect the Mediterranean sunshine and bright coloured furnishings.

Downstairs, the two-storey property consists of a large and open living room, as well as a chill-out area with a fully-equipped kitchen.

There's also a desk in this part of the pad, for anyone needing to do some remote work.

Upstairs there are three stunning en-suite bedrooms, which all come with private balconies, giving amazing sea views.

There are two double bedrooms and one twin bedroom within the property.

Additional amenities include Wi-Fi, air conditioning in the entire villa, a washing machine, a dryer, as well as satellite TV.

However, the highlight of this accommodation is its private outdoor area with a pool, which can be heated for an extra €5 per night, an amazing garden, an open terrace, a barbecue, and a lovely outdoor shower.

The villa is also one of the only ones in the area with a swimming pool - and a very beautifully designed one at that - so it is a very sought-after destination.

Towels, bed linen, pool towels, and beach towels are included in the price.

Public parking space can be found near the property, pets are not allowed and there is a security deposit of €500 per stay.

There are security cameras on the premises, as well as audio recording devices, which activate when the alarm goes off.

The luxury Airbnb can be booked at £425 per night depending on dates.

Spanish destinations including the Costa del Sol and Balearic Islands are expected to be the destinations of choice for many UK holidaymakers this year.

More than a quarter of people, or 29 per cent, said they planned to visit the country this year.

This puts it miles ahead of the country in second position, the USA, which was the top destination for 18 per cent of people.

Tourist numbers could reach pre-pandemic levels between the UK and Spain after international Covid restrictions were loosened.

The peninsula has opened up to overseas travel and is set to benefit from pent-up demand to travel.

It comes after the number of international visitors in Spain increased four-fold last September compared with the previous year, according to figures from the Office for National Statistics (ONS).

British holidaymakers are considered central to the recovery of tourist numbers in 2022.

The country usually attracts 18 million UK visitors every year, with British passport holders making up the largest group of international tourists in Spain.

Spanish Tourism Minister Maria Reyes Maroto said: “These data confirm a reactivation of international tourism is underway and that in 2022 we could recover pre-pandemic levels”.

British travellers were overtaken by visitors from France due to Covid-19 restrictions.

But the Spanish government expects this to change with the UK returning to the top spot among visitors from abroad.
