Alexis Mac Allister was one of Argentina's heroes as they were crowned World Cup champions in Qatar last Sunday.
The Brighton midfielder was being cheered on by his relatives in Donabate, who are hoping the 23-year-old will visit the Dublin town in the future - and maybe even bring the World Cup trophy with him
Mac Allister plays for and lives in Brighton, and has created quite the bond with the Sussex city he now calls home, reports Sussex Live.

He has lived on the south coast ever since making his debut for Brighton in 2020, regularly posting photographs to Instagram of him out and about in the city, often with his girlfriend, Camila. On Sunday night, he found himself a far cry from Sussex as he provided the assist for Argentina's second goal en-route to securing football's greatest prize.
Although Mac Allister has found himself sharing the stage with arguably football's greatest ever player, Lionel Messi, in recent weeks, his day-to-day home life is much more humble. Outside of playing for Brighton, he appears to enjoy his life living in the city.
Mac Allister signed for Brighton in 2019 but did not make his debut until 2020 following a couple of loan moves to other football clubs. Since then, he's developed into a key part of the Seagulls side.
Unsurprisingly, the 23-year-old's recent Instagram feed has been filled with jubilant scenes of his World Cup win, posing alongside Messi and others in the dressing room. He scored in the group stage match against Poland, one of many vital contributions he made across the month-long tournament in Qatar.
Away from the football pitch, Mac Allister regularly posts snaps of himself and his girlfriend exploring Brighton. In July, he posted a chilled picture strolling through residential streets.
He's also been seen enjoying a day at Brighton Pier, as well as walking along the city's iconic seafront. In more homely posts, the footballer is seen celebrating both his 23rd and 22nd birthdays, celebrated on Christmas Eve, at home in the city, surrounded by his girlfriend and friends.
The interior of his home is seen covered in balloons as he posed with loved ones, including ex-Brighton teammate Marc Cucurella. In another photograph from December 2021, Mac Allister can be seen smiling while out for dinner in Brighton with his brothers Kevin and Francis.
With his posts often attracting thousands of likes from both Argentina and Brighton fans, it's clear to see that Mac Allister has firmly made Brighton his second home. His girlfriend Camila, regularly posts photos from the city on her Instagram feed too - the couple have enjoyed Argentina's success together out in Qatar.
