A popular Scottish brewer has teamed up with a top single-malt brand to create its latest beer.
Innis & Gunn has joined forces with Glenlivet to create the limited edition brew.
Dubbed ‘Vanishing Point 06’, the new beer is an Imperial Stout and the latest release from Innis & Gunn’s annual Vanishing Point series. The special edition has been matured in oak casks that previously held Glenlivet 18-year-old whisky.
The firm said there will be just 1,500 bottles of ‘Vanishing Point 06’, an 11% Imperial Stout, available to buy online at the Innis & Gunn online shop, from November 11.
Priced at £15 per 500ml bottle, Innis & Gunn said that due to its maturation in Glenlivet 18-year-old casks, the beer has taken on characteristics of the single malt whisky left behind in the oak, which "harmonise beautifully" with the hints of dark chocolate and caramel already in the beer.

They added it has almost spicy notes balanced by "honeycomb, toffee and vanilla", with the finish lingering with "warming whisky sweetness".
Dougal Gunn Sharp, Founder and Master Brewer, Innis & Gunn said: "Our first edition of Vanishing Point was in 2016 and since then each annual release of the beer has been an evolution of the last. A ‘Vanishing Point’ is something always slightly beyond reach and this name perfectly fits this beer and our quest for continual progression in brewing, evolving year by year.
"Collaborating with The Glenlivet to mature this beer in their rare 18-year-old whisky casks has taken ‘Vanishing Point 06' to another level, introducing flavours and complexity that only a whisky skilfully matured in this way, could have left in the casks."
