Injury statuses revealed for two key Patriots ahead of Sunday

Two important pieces for the New England Patriots are dealing with injuries ahead of Sunday’s contest against the Baltimore Ravens.

Wide receiver Jakobi Meyers and safety Kyle Dugger suffered injuries during Sunday’s game against the Pittsburgh Steelers. More recently, both players were listed as non-participants in practice on Wednesday.

Meyers has been a key part of the Patriots’ passing game. He has been a favorite target for quarterback Mac Jones and has caught 13 passes for 150 yards.

Dugger has stepped up in a big way, as the Patriots have been dealing with other injuries at the safety position. He has recorded seven tackles so far this season, including six against the Miami Dolphins in the season-opener.

Boston Sports Journal’s Greg Bedard, via NESN.com, offered information on the health of the two players.

“I’m not worried about Meyers,” Bedard wrote. “From what I hear, he’s fine and he’ll be out there in his normal role on Sunday. Dugger is a little bit different — he’s going to likely be a game-time decision.”

It’s important to note that neither player participated in practice again on Thursday.

The health of both players will be closely monitored ahead of a tough showdown with the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday.
