Influencer James Kavanagh has been announced as the host of Virgin Media’s new dating show.
This series will follow 12 singletons in a quest to find love and learn the Irish language, with the ultimate aim of being crowned the ‘Couple with the most Focail’ and walking away with a grand prize to the value of €10,000.
Kavanagh will bring his own brand of charm and charisma to the series, and while he is not a Gaeilgeoir himself, James’ enthusiasm to embrace the Irish language makes him the perfect Man an Tí.

James said: “To say I am buzzing to co host this show is an understatement. Single & giddy Irish people looking for the ride while learning Irish? The show is destined to be iconic”.
Filming will begin in May and all contestants will live together in a house with cameras capturing all the action over five weeks.
A statement for the new dating show said: "This Irish based series is like a Gaeltacht you’ve never seen before as we follow twelve singletons in a quest to couple up and find love in hopes to be crowned ‘Couple with the most Focail’ and walk away with €10,000.
"Starting off, we meet six single women and men all looking for love.
"The experienced casting team will carefully match the Lánúineacha (Couples) in advance, based on likes, personality, but also, on their Irish language skills – those líofa sa Gaeilge are paired with those who are not.
"Each week over five weeks, they undertake challenges to improve their Gaeilge as a couple. Those who make the most improvement, will survive another week.
"Keeping a sharp eye on the couples, ensuring they are practising and progressing, is ‘an Breitheamh’ (The Judge).
"Through entertaining challenges and practical tasks through Irish our couples will compete against each other, improving their fluency with the overriding goal to win the Couple Crown.
"Of course, as they get to grips with the language, will romance also blossom between them?!
"If you’re between 18 – 30 years old, looking for love and want to try a different a dating scene this summer – then we are ready to meet you! ‘Gra ar an Trá’ want to hear from men and women, fluent in Irish and others with a cúpla focal, who are looking for love."
