Inés Gómez Mont's first novel follows a Mexican lawyer drawn into a criminal case involving a powerful businessman, family rivalries, and the country's highest circles of influence. Its author, meanwhile, remains wanted in Mexico in a financial crime investigation that has kept her away from television for five years.
The former Ventaneando presenter has published Ley de Fuego, a legal thriller that combines organized crime allegations with romance. The independently published novel went on sale in September and attracted renewed attention this week, even as Mexican authorities continue seeking Gómez Mont and her husband, businessman and lawyer Víctor Manuel Álvarez Puga.
