IndyCar Long Beach: Rosenqvist gives MSR first-ever series pole

The 32-year-old Swede saved his best for last after pushing to a quick lap of 1m06.0172s around the 11-turn, 1.968-mile temporary street circuit, giving Meyer Shank Racing its first-ever pole in the IndyCar Series. It is the sixth pole of Rosenqvist’s career.

Rosenqvist managed to capture the top spot by a narrow 0.0039 of a second over Team Penske’s Will Power, who overcame two incidents earlier in the day during second practice to qualify second.
