Indore Times Fashion Week: An ode to festive season's colours

Indore Times Fashion Week culminated last week with an extravagant showing of home designers and some of the very best Indian labels. Clothes, presentation, stage decor and celebs initiated a buzz through their very best put forward. Telly dignitaries were all glammed up for gracing the ramp with showstoppers' grand gestures in festive ensembles. It was contemporary Indian wear flinging some of the most trending shades for this festive season. Indore greeted Times Fashion Week with conventions and glamour offering an exceptionally talented and well-researched creative collection of new artists and known designers. In colour terms, multiple collections were immersed in all shades of Red which signifies a festive mode, fire and resilience of the ceremonious rituals. However, three colour combinations stood out the most. Perhaps driven by the traditional values, Red resonated. The festive dressing has elevated copper yellow, orange to brown tones and a penchant for monotones, and has balanced bright colours by a glance of the icy pale colour palette.

Fashion brand SHINOR accentuated Reds and Pinks between vintage and modern clothing. While the Revival of Bagh print collection showed several looks in beautiful red floral prints and balloon sleeves. This included an indo-western fusion of outfits by Mumtaz Khan. He created an uber cool vegetable printed cotton base men's wear line in blood red and rust reds to maroons with frills and contemporary collar details. The Grand finale had one of India's most celebrated designer Rina Dhaka showing the strength of a woman in her gorgeous collection in Red for Fall Couture 2022.

Festive clothing can't be explained without copper, gold and Royal browns. Samat Chouhan reclaimed the ramp into a beautiful alley of flowers. It was like spring has sprung all over again in Autumn where his clothes did show the vintage weaving in rust and browns. Beautifully embroidered Indian wear displayed the colours of Autumn in silk, chiffon and georgette. Mumtaj khan showcased rust jackets with frilly cuffs and intricate vegetable self-prints of floral and Paisley. His long jackets were perfectly blending all rust for this season to team it up with western pieces.

The collection of Shivam Shivhare was inspired by an age-old hypothesis that everything has two sides. The show by Farhat Malik dropped the dynamics of modern Indian wear in traditional icy pale craft and beautiful Indian fabrics. In the icy pale shades of beige, roasted pink and pastel greens for women. And powder blues, milkshake pink, and vanilla cream white were balancing men's wear traditionally. Another provincial collection was presented by HMI-EDII Bhuj-Kutch called “Handloom Classics: Rhythm of Tana-Bana” they sent out on the ramp one of the most exquisite yet simple lines of jackets, kurtas and sarees. Light fabrics in icy pale colours with modern, minimal stripes, checks and plaids were soothing to the eyes. It represented light hues of Kutch with handcrafted details. The artwork was developed by a group of weavers, and designed by Shsilja Soni, an expert at EDII.

Indore Times Fashion Week was all in elevated spirits with celebrities closing the show and conveying the festive mood to its pinnacle. Enabling homegrown labels and designs for Indian consumers is essential in this season. Where the line of festivity is going to take place. Everyone will be looking for something domestic and traditional to indulge in. Clothes in the end, in our tradition, are something holy, it's about sharing happiness with family, sharing love and laughter with friends and sharing identity on a global map. Indore Times Fashion Week did serve its best in all the different divisions of fashion and apparel.
