Indore: Postgraduate exam starts in conventional mode

INDORE: Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya (DAVV) has started examinations in conventional manner for postgraduate courses from Monday. The examination for first year undergraduate courses will begin from Tuesday.

On Monday, MA fourth semester students appeared for the examination, Besides BBA, BCom and BJMC first year courses, examinations for MA-MSW second semester and M Com fourth semester will start from Tuesday.

The varsity has finalised 80 exam centres, including government, private and aided colleges, for over 30,000 UG students of traditional courses and around 36,000 professional courses such as BBA and BCA.

The examination of first year students is being conducted on the basis of National Education Policy (NEP), DAVV exam controller Dr Ashesh Tiwari told TOI.

After an incessant rise in cheating cases, the varsity has taken strict action on the students, and even for those students who would stand outside the centres despite reaching the venue on time. Students will henceforth have to specify the reason for reaching the exam centre late, he added.

The varsity has formed 10 flying squads for monitoring the centres, while responsibility of sensitive centres inspection has been entrusted to a special team.

The exam of BBA, BJMAC, BHMAC and BCA will begin from 7 am to 10 am and BCom, 11 am to 2 pm. The examination of BA, BSc first year will start on June 29 and BEd fourth semester examination will start from June 27.
