Indore: The DAVV team gave a presentation of Centre of Excellence (CoEs) worth over Rs 200 crores to the Directorate of Higher Education (DHE) for 22 University Teaching Departments (UTD) which was sent earlier this month. The Higher Education department has instructed the varsity to revise proposals sent and submit these proposals, vice chancellor of DAVV, Dr. Renu Jain told TOI.
“The varsity is expecting to get all the 22 proposals approved in the three phases. We will provide some gaps between the three phases,” she added. The varsity has been choosing CoE proposals on priority consdering forthcoming National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) cycle, she said.
After three years, DAVV is hopeful that these CoE proposals will be considered as chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan assured of providing all the assistance required to get DAVV in top 100 NIRF ranking and clinching an A++ grade in NAAC.In 2019, DAVV sent eight proposals of Rs 45 crores. Only two proposals were accepted costing Rs 1.8 crores. DAVV had sent 15 new proposals worth Rs 80 crores in February. After an external gap committee’s analysis, the varsity sent proposals worth over Rs 330 crores of which over Rs 200 crores are for CoE.
