IndiGo to have 12 daily domestic flights to Mopa starting January 5

NEW DELHI: Goa's new airport -- Mopa in North of the idyllic state -- will start operations from January 5.

India's largest domestic airline, IndiGo, will have 12 daily domestic flights to and from Mopa starting Day One of the new new airport.

This will be IndiGo’s largest ever new station launch and will immediately connect the new airport to eight cities across India.

The present Goa Dabolim Airport (Dabolim, South Goa) will remain operational for regular commercial flights, and IndiGo says it will continue its existing operations there.

IndiGo CEO Pieter Elbers said: “We are very excited to announce our largest ever new station launch with new direct connections from the New Goa International Airport in Mopa, North Goa. It’s momentous for us at IndiGo to have such massive opening and it speaks of our ambition and ability to provide connectivity to our customers and the nation in the best possible way.”

Unlike Bengaluru and Hyderabad where the existing airports shut for commercial flights when the two metros got new airports, Dabolim will remain open for them after Mopa becomes operational from January 5, 2023.
