IndiGo inaugurates its second MRO facility at Bengaluru

MUMBAI: India's largest carrier IndiGo inaugurated its second maintenance repair and overhaul (MRO) facility at Kempegowda International airport last week.

The airline has a 20-year pact signed with Bengaluru International Airport for the facility. IndiGo's primary MRO facility is at its base in Delhi airport.

"The 13,000-sq mts hangar is built on five acres of land and is the second largest maintenance facility at the Bengaluru Airport," said IndiGo in a press statement issued on Wednesday.

The MRO facility, inaugurated by IndiGo’s engineering head, SC Gupta can accommodate up to 2 narrow body aircraft at the same time.

"Additionally, the facility will have support infrastructure, including an engine QEC shop warehouse and engineering offices for all repair and maintenance work," the airline said.
