India's power consumption rises nearly 13% to 169 billion units in August

India

New Delhi: India's power consumption grew 12.85 per cent year-on-year to 169.01 billion units (BU) in August, official data showed, as high humidity levels pushed up use of cooling appliances like air conditioners in many parts of the country.

The country's total power consumption was 149.76 BU in August 2025.
