India's net direct tax collections rise 13% to Rs 12.1 lakh crore till September 17 of FY27

India

India's net direct tax collections rose 12.96% year-on-year to Rs 12.12 lakh crore as of September 17 of financial year 2026-27, according to data released by the Income Tax department on Friday.

Gross direct tax collections increased 15.19% to Rs 14.32 lakh crore during the period, while refunds issued stood at Rs 2.20 lakh crore, up 29.19% from the year-ago period.
