India is creating ultra-rich investors faster than its wealth industry can find people to advise them. The number of Indians worth at least $30 million jumped 63% to 19,877 in five years, but the country had only about 1,900 dedicated wealth relationship managers in FY25 and even an estimated increase in that workforce to 2,800 by FY28 may not ease the pressure.
Average assets handled by each relationship manager, or RM, are expected to climb to ₹4.8 billion from ₹3.7 billion over the same period, according to a Motilal Oswal Financial Services report.
