WASHINGTON — Rep. Jackie Walorski, R-Ind., died in a car crash Wednesday, according to a statement shared by House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy, R-Calif.
“It is with a heavy heart that I am sharing this statement from the Office of Congresswoman Jackie Walorski,” McCarthy said on Twitter.
The statement said Walorski died in in Elkhart County, Indiana. Local news reported that four people died in the crash, including two other people in the vehicle with Walorski.
Walorski had served in Congress since 2012, when she first won election in Indiana’s 2nd District.
