Indiana Jones is returning to screens next year with the fifth instalment to the action adventure franchise.
The trailer for the upcoming flick, Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny, has been released and viewers can see Glasgow front and centre in the clips after St Vincent Street was transformed into 1960s New York City. The latest movie is set during the height of the Space Race between the US and the Soviet Union.
Harrison Ford is reprising his role as the hero archaeologist, as well as new additions to the cast with Phoebe Waller-Bridge, Mads Mikkelsen, and Antonio Banderas. Eagled eyed fans will be able to spot the streets of Glasgow during the trailer, as filming for the production took place in Scotland last summer.
Glasgow city centre transformed into 1960s New York for the shoot, fitted with star-spangled banners, bunting and vintage shop fronts as cast and crew for the blockbuster recreated a parade for Apollo astronauts' return home.
The trailer opens with Jones in adventure mode, jumping between tuk-tuk cars and shooting a gun while riding a motorcycle.
“I don’t believe in magic, but a few times in my life I’ve seen things. Things I can’t explain,” he narrates over first glances at villains played by Mikkelsen and Banderas.
It is expected to be the final Indiana Jones film, with the first, Raiders of the Lost Ark, released in 1981. The film is expected to hit theatres on June 30 2023.
