Indiana draft prospect for Packers fans to watch during College Football Playoff

Mention the Green Bay Packers drafting an offensive tackle from Indiana University and Packers fans may immediately react the same way Lloyd Christmas reacted to watching his best friend Harry Dunne drop Mary Swanson off after their ski date. The name Jason Spriggs doesn’t bring up many fond memories for Green Bay fans.

Well, get those paper bags ready, Packers fans, because there is an Indiana offensive lineman who could be a Day 3 target for the Packers during the 2025 NFL Draft.

Trey Wedig, Indiana’s starting right tackle, will look to continue his strong play for the Hoosiers when they square off against Notre Dame. Kickoff is scheduled for Saturday at 3 p.m. CT.

During his four seasons as a Wisconsin Badger, Wedig started five games at right tackle, two at right guard and one at left guard. During his first season at Indiana, Wedig has started every game at right tackle, giving up just one sack and 13 pressures.

Standing at 6-7, 319 pounds, Wedig looks like an NFL offensive tackle. The Wisconsin transfer plays with quick feet. Of the 13 pressures, five of them came during the first two weeks of the season. He’s gotten better each week and a strong showing on Saturday could continue to help his stock steadily rise.

Indiana’s starting right tackle loves to run block. He has strong hands and is able to create surge to open up running lanes. Wedig looks comfortable on the move and locks onto targets as a puller.

The top prospect for Indiana is Mikail Kamara. The edge rusher has recorded 10 sacks this season to go along with 15 tackles for loss. He may or may not be on Green Bay’s board due to his height (6-1).
