RANCHI: It’s do-or-die for the Indian women’s hockey team as they begin their journey in the FIH Olympic Qualifiers against USA on Saturday with an eye on the ultimate prize – a spot in Paris.
Janneke Schopman’s side could have avoided this qualifier had they won gold in Asian Games but it wasn’t to be and there were even calls for Schopman’s removal after the tournament. However, one believes Hockey India president Dilip Tirkey had stepped in and wanted Schopman to stay on.
