PUNE: Lack of top-ranked singles players arising from a lack of "passion and vision" in the national federation is a "bigger worry" for Indian tennis than losing the long-running ATP 250 event, says Karti Chidambaram.
On Friday, it emerged that the ATP Tour event held in the season's first week in Pune since 2018 - and for 21 years in Chennai before that - will move to Hong Kong from 2024 as the five-year contract that kept the tournament in India ended after the completion of the 2023 edition.
