MARGAO: Rowllin Borges’ last contribution on the field was to volley a free-kick into the back of the net. It happened in the first minute of the first half’s added time as the midfielder turned home Victor Rodriguez’s freekick to help Goa score a solitary goal win against Kerala Blasters FC in the Indian Super League match at the Nehru Stadium in Fatorda on Sunday.
The goal that separated the two sides took Goa to the top of the table with 19 points from seven games. But with Rowllin being stretchered off for what looked like a hamstring injury, Manolo Marquez’s side could now miss the midfielder for the rest of the month.
